Bhante Saranapala, the Urban Buddhist Monk, was invited to join one of the UN panel sessions (UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Spirituality: Ethics and Values for the 2030 Agenda) on September 22, 2020

He presented "Canada: A Mindful and Kind Nation" with kindfulness principles and how every country in the world can be made a mindful and kind nation including the United Nations. You can read his full speech here.

Jacquelene LeBeau
Jacquelene LeBeauRegistered Psychotherapist
Evolve was founded by Jacqueline LeBeau who is a Registered Psychotherapist and Family Law Mediator as well as a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist. Jacqueline began her training in the field of psychology with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. After completion of her B.A. Jacqueline furthered her education in the legal field where she worked in some of the most prestigious law firms across Ontario and Vancouver to help clients in the areas of family law and personal injury. After ten years working in the legal industry, Jacqueline returned to the world of academia to pursue a Master’s degree in psychology.

Joan Williams

Joan Williams is a Caregiver and a Health Coach who has extensive experience working with clients to help them achieve their goals for optimal health and fitness as well as live-in hospice care for patients to help them enjoy the best quality of life in her care.

Kevin Rempel
Kevin RempelBronze Medal/Paralympic & World Champion
After being paralyzed at the age of 23, Kevin Rempel not only learned how to walk again, but to overcome the mental battle of both depression and living with a disability to rebuild his life and help Canada earn Gold at the 2013 World Championships and a Bronze medal at the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

As a health and fitness expert, Tiffanie works with individuals and organizations to help improve people's mental health using meditation, mindfulness, and movement as the foundation for a better life. Tiffanie has applied her J.U.S.E. Your Life philosophy to help her clients overcome anxiety and depression. As a speaker, Tiffanie has a talent for connecting with her audience. Her down-to-earth and fun personality makes her participants laugh while they learn. She has spoken and taught for ALM Corp, Saje Natural Wellness, Lululemon, and Travelzoo on both a local and international scale. A mermaid at heart, you'll likely find Tiffanie swimming or paddle boarding when she's not speaking or training.

Troy MacLean
Troy MacLeanClinical Counsellor & Addiction specialist
Troy has worked as a Clinical Counsellor in Addictions for almost 25 years. He works in both community and hospital settings with patients who have Concurrent disorders. As well he has a private practice treating individuals and families who are struggling with substance use disorders. His primary modalities of treatment are CBT and a Client centred approach but also incorporates mindfulness, meditation and acupuncture.

Known as the “Urban Buddhist Monk”, an appropriate nomenclature for a Buddhist Monk for modern times, Reverend Dr. Bhante Saranapala has been acclaimed as a consummate teacher of meditation by a growing number of seekers of spiritual and healthy life and peace of mind in North America and Europe who admire his simple and all-embracing approach in transmitting the universal message of love, kindness, compassion, understanding and wisdom. He has earned an enviable reputation as a global public speaker and a meditation master par excellence. Born in Chittagong, Bangladesh, Dr. Bhante Saranapala, after receiving both his monastic and secular education in Sri Lanka, made his way to Canada to further his studies (Masters and Doctoral studies at the University of Toronto and McMaster University) and soon addressed his mind to the noble task of spreading in the West his own tested approach to Mindfulness and Insight Meditation. Settling down in the City of Mississauga-Toronto West, he has been a monk in residence at the monastic fraternity of the West End Buddhist Temple and Meditation Centre for the past 28 years. In September 2019, Reverend Dr. Bhante Saranapala has been appointed as the World Civility Ambassador by the iChange Nations for his extraordinary kindfulness works around the world.

Everyone is disconnecting still and this is causing a big increase in mental health.”

Canada 150 Medal and Sesquicentennial Community Award

The Urban Buddhist Monk, Bhante Saranapala, has been honoured with the “Canada 150 Medal and Sesquicentennial Community Award” from the Government of Canada. On behalf of the Government, Hon. Peter Fonseca, Member of Parliament for Mississauga East Cooksville, bestowed  the medal and award to Bhante Saranapala in recognition of his effort in "Making Canada a More Mindful and Kinder Nation" and in recognition of his accomplishments in our community by promoting a diverse and inclusive Canada ??. Bhante Saranapala is one of the 25 recipients of this medal and award in the Mississauga East Cooksville region. A big thank-you to Hon. Peter Fonseca MP and Government of Canada for this recognition with the Canada 150 medal and Sesquicentennial Community Award
